Matching users by email

Assignees, commenters and collaborators information only migrate correctly if DatMig knows which target user corresponds to each source user.

How it works

• DatMig lists the users of your source platform and reads the users in the target platform.
• If the user email matches on both sides, DatMig automatically maps the source and target user.
• DatMig expects you to manually map the users that it can't map automatically. You can also manually update the auto mapping if you choose to.

Tips

• Make sure the users in the source space/board are members of the target space/board before you migrate; you can only map to users who already exist in the target.
• Some platforms hide member emails from non-admins (Trello, for example), so those members migrate as text based names rather than linked accounts.
• An unmapped user doesn't block a migration, but no corresponding user will be reflected in the migrated data in target.
